• It’s been an uneventful week here at the farm.  It’s the “calm before the storm” week if you will.  Next week the fair begins, and most of the preparations have been made.  So now we wait.

It's time for another "Cartoon Alter Ego."  Today Chance gets the nod.  Most of our readers know of the issues that Chance has had to deal with throughout his young life.  He is the son of Holly and Kallen, born 3-18-13.  He was one of 10, which is a very large litter.  Chance was born with a condition called a “Persistent Right Aortic Arch”.  Basically, this means his esophagus was wound with a band of tissue that prevented anything but liquids from going down.  Surgery was needed to c...

• It’s been an extremely hot week!  With more still to come, extra care is being taken to aid in the comfort level of the pack.  Fans are going at full strength, water in their pool is being freshened with cold water more often, and a bowl of water containing electrolytes is on hand.  The activity level is down during heat waves.  They pretty much run to the pool, splash around, run back to the shade and lay down.  Then repeat as needed...

Our first Siberian Husky was Holly.  To this day, she is our most active and athletic dog.  We noticed early on that that she also seemed to take charge when out playing.  Whenever she runs, the others tend to follow her.  She seems a natural leader.  My belief is she would make a great lead dog on a sled team.   Holly is also very smart tends to be stubborn.  She is without a doubt, our chief escape artist.  Since Siberian Huskies love to run so ...
