The Husky Report...3-22-15

Posted by Andrew Kronenberger on Sunday, March 22, 2015, In : Frosty Meadow Happenings
  • Another busy week here at the farm.  Now that all of the pups are in their new homes, we now turn our focus to the turkeys, which arrived on Wednesday!  We are happy to report that so far all have survived the trip, and the first several days here.

  • Several weeks ago, we took in Lula (From Rose/Kallen 2014) and Czar (From Miya/Kallen 2013) from the BoSheers.  Due to health issues, they were unable to give them the care they needed.  It was a VERY difficult decision for the BoSheers.  They...

Friday Flashback..."The Name Game" re-visited.

Posted by Andrew Kronenberger on Friday, March 20, 2015, In : Friday Flashback

For today's Friday Flashback, instead of looking into past photos, I wanted to go back and re-visit the names list to see where we stand.

I wanted to see if we all covered the alphabet yet.  I knew we were close, but I wanted to see where it stood.

As you can see, not quite yet.  There are a dozen or so names we do not yet know, but as of right now there are 2 letters not covered.  U&X.

There are several instances that a name was used more than once.  A few times, a name was used on 3 occa...

Tuesday Tech Talk...Identification of puppies

Posted by Andrew Kronenberger on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, In : Tech Talk

This is a repeat post from the past, but the subject invariably arises with every litter of puppies.

“How will you be able to tell them apart?”  or  “Are you sure you will be able to tell which one is mine when we pick him/her up?”  The answer is yes we can, but it is not easy.

Some litters are easy to distinguish.  An example of this is Rose’s litter from early 2013.  Six puppies, four different color combinations and the ones that were the same were 1 male and 1 female.

The...

3-15-15 The Husky Report.

Posted by Andrew Kronenberger on Monday, March 16, 2015, In : Frosty Meadow Happenings
  • It’s been a busy weekend!  There was no Friday Flashback blog post on Friday, since it was Zach’s birthday.  We had a couple of puppy pickups, plus had dinner out and brought Zach and his friend to “Scene 75”, which is a go cart/laser tag/video game facility.  Lots of fun!
  • As mentioned, Friday was the pickup of two of Miya’s puppies.  Four left on Saturday, and one more on Sunday.  We welcome the Elek's, the Stankus', the Daniels’, the Spears', The Norman's, the Westerfield's, ...

Tuesday Tech Talk..."What do I feed my Husky?"

Posted by Andrew Kronenberger on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, In : Tech Talk
With Nadia’s puppies now in their new homes, and Miya’s puppies soon going to their new homes, we felt a good topic for today’s “TechTalk” would be feeding your husky.  When you bring home your new husky puppy, obviously you need to stop and get some food.  Many ask us what we have been feeding them, so they can get some of the same.  (It’s not good to abruptly switch foods).  Normally we use “4-Health” brand Puppy Food, which we consider to be a very good brand, and we provid...

The Husky Report...3-8-15

  • It was the big weekend for Nadia’s pups! They all went to their new homes.  We welcome to The Frosty Meadow Family, the Halusek’s, the Wiese’s, the Prader’s, the Yedinak’s, the Strowsky’s, and also a special mention to the Marti’s for their second puppy going home to meet Finn. (from Miya and Kallen 2013).
  • As mentioned previously, Miya’s pups are now separated from mama, and loving the yummy new food they get!  They have all now been vet-checked, (all passed!) and will get ...

The Husky Report, 3-1-15

  • Welcome to March!!  After a very long winter, March is finally here.  Thoughts of green enter my mind.  Both the green grass and leaves that are around the corner, and the green of St. Patrick’s Day!  Being ¼ Irish, I enjoy celebrating the festivities.  Perhaps not as much as others, but a beverage or two is always in order!
  • Well, March decided to come in like a lion…the biggest lion on the safari!  I am guessing 6 or so inches of snow fell here today.  At least it warmed to around 30...
