Now that the dust is settling from the last two
litters, it’s time to get busy with behind the scenes activities.
I am WAY behind on updating the website with
pages for all the new puppy owners. Please bear with me! I am also
trying to get used to the new website format, so that just adds to the issue.
In addition to the website, I am trying to get a
new blog platform that I am comfortable with.I tried a new one, but it is too confusing and too much to deal with
right now.I am not saying it was a bad
platform, but I am just limited with the extra time I need to learn all the ins
and outs. For now I am back to blogging
here.
I am investigating the other blog platform this
website offers through Tumblr.It looks
to have promise.
Our farm activity is now turned to the Miami
County Fair. The girls are showing their
horses, and Zach is going a different route this year.Instead of the usual goats and meat chickens,
he is raising ducks and fancy birds.Which are basically chickens, but are more for show than meat or
eggs.
We will miss Buckeye Dan at the fair. This year, Hunter is Meranda’s horse, and
Taylor will also be competing with a new horse we be picking up soon.
I completed Zach’s duck pen on the side of the
barn.I still need to make them a better
“bed” or nesting spot because they are still small and need to stay warm.We have a small one in place but it is only a
temporary set up.
Hopefully, before too long, I can get started on
the lean-to in the pasture. This will
allow the horses to have a permanent home on pasture, instead of the girls having
to walk them back and forth to the barn every day.
Once that is done, we can finally expand down
and add 3 more dog stalls. They are MUCH
needed.
