Meet the Siberian Huskies, Part 5…Miya
Miya came to us around Christmas of 2010, along with her
sister Peyton. After the original 5, we
decided that it truly was our destiny to be breeders of this magnificent
dog. Our combination of God-given
talents made us suitors to take on the responsibility of helping others enjoy
the Husky. It was time to expand the
pack and Miya and Peyton were the perfect additions. Miya is a beautiful gray and white Siberian
Husky with ice blue eyes. She has a “Dr.
Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” personality. As
loving, sweet, and playful as she is during normal times, she becomes a true
handful during her heat cycles. It is
very typical for a female dog to become more aggressive during her cycles, but
Miya takes it to an extreme. We always
keep any female separated during these times, and with Miya it is certainly no
different.
But enough about the down side! Most of the time, Miya is a very loving Husky
to humans and the other Huskies alike.
When out playing, she seems tireless. She continuously runs with whoever will run
with her. If one of us is out running
with them, she is always in the mix chasing us around. She is very athletic, and along with Holly,
are the only two that can leap from the ground to the trampoline without the
help of the chair. We have often talked
about how Miya is the strongest Husky we have.
She is a “puller” unlike any of the others. She normally has no trouble pulling me on my
skis, and I would love to try her out with a sled!
