3-6-13

·         The snow didn’t disappoint.  At least the dogs.  We got about 6-8 inches.  Akira and Nadia went out this morning and were running around having a great time.  I think they forgot they had to do their business.  Too much fun!

·         This was Nadia’s first real snowfall that she got to play in.  For the storm after Christmas, she was only about 4 weeks old, and didn’t get to play in it.  She had a BLAST!  The rest of the dogs will get to play this afternoon and evening.  Work comes first. L

·         Today, Rose’s puppies are 4 weeks old!  This is a big day because the weaning process begins.   We start them on “4 Health” brand puppy food.  At this age, they get the canned, and after they are about 6 weeks, they are converted over to the dry version.  They devoured it!!  This is their first taste of food besides mother’s milk, and they are not complaining!

·         Today is also dose #2 of worm medication.

·         Finally, today is picture day.  We take weekly photos to send to their new owners.  I know it’s fun for both the new owners and us to watch them grow up.

·         Click here for more detailed information on our feeding and worming process for new puppies.

·         Soon it will be vet visit time.  Normally we take them into the vet for their checkup.  This time, however, we will likely be scheduling a farm visit.  After years of bringing all the dogs in 2-3 at a time into the office, we decided to arrange an annual farm visit.  Everything will be done in one annual visit.  We are hoping to schedule it for her to give the puppies their exams, and also give all the dogs their annual physical.

·         I get home from work, and the dogs go crazy!  I think they know the sound of my car.  Many comments were made on Facebook about everyone’s huskies being “in their element”.  Very true here as well.

·         Want to see a definition of happiness?  Sit back and watch 10 Siberian Huskies play in 8 inches of new snowfall.  Not a care in the world.

·         The same can be said for Zach, who was out playing with them.  J
