Puppies were born last night!

As expected, Rose gave birth to her puppies late last night! There were 6 total, 4-female and 2-male. Colors were very interesting. Two were white with a light tannish red tint, two were gray and white and looked a lot like Kallen, but the other two had interesting mixes of gray and red. As they get older, we will be able to tell better whether they grow toward red and white, wolf gray and white, or the very rare sable and white, which is red roots and gray/black tips. Next round of puppies!

As mentioned in a previous post, we are coming up on our next round of puppies.  Rose is expected to have her first litter in week or so.  Rose had her first heat cycle very early. (At around 6 months!)  Normally, the first comes 8-12 months, but Rose was an early bloomer.  There was some miscommunication over who the Father was going to be between Heather and myself.  I thought she had said it was Demon, but in our discussions she told me it wasn't him, but rather Kallen.  I did not think Ka...

Another Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to Daisie and Denali's pups from Last January! Born 1-23-12.

Puppies all sold, plus Happy Birthday!

All of Daisie and Denali's third litter of puppies have been sold, and the last will go to their new homes later today.  Thanks to all the new puppy owners!  It brings us indescribable happiness seeing the new puppy owners joy when picking up their pup!  All of the new owners throughout all of our litters have been great!

White Siberian Husky Puppies at 3 weeks (Daisie/Denali)

Daisie had her pups on Thanksgiving day!  (Denali was the sire) She had 10 beautiful Black and White and All White Siberian Husky Puppies, (4-black and white and 6-all white.  One of the black and white puppies was a runt, and we are happy to report that at three weeks she (and all the others) are doing very well!  We decided to keep the runt, and are debating over a name.  Six of the remaining nine have been sold, with 2-male all white and 1-female all white remaining.  (Click here for pictu...

Tragedy

November 26, 2012
We lost a very dear member of the family 11-17-12. I went out yesterday morning as I usually do to let the dogs out to play, when I discovered Brutus had died in the overnight hours. We brought Brutus to our vet for an autopsy to figure out what had happened, mainly to make sure it was not a contagious disease that the others could contract. RIP Sheba

October 16, 2012
Sadly, Sheba, our oldest Husky that we took in as a rescue in 2010, passed away on 10-12-12 after complications from cancer, and her resulting leg amputation.  She spent her final years comfortable and serene, and we felt she enjoyed her time with us. 
She will be missed!

Whirlwind of Events!

It's been a whirlwind the last couple months here at Frosty Meadow Husky Farm!  It all started back in late July.

* Upon arriving home from vacation in late July, Aleu and Miya both gave birth to their litters of puppies, followed by Holly 2 weeks later.
* In early August, we were swamped with activity due to the Miami County Fair, and visits to the farm by future puppy owners.
* September brought us the 2nd Annual Husky Reunion, plus the continuous flow of future puppy owners.

Annual Husky Family Reunion

This weekend (9-15) we are hosting our 2nd annual "Husky Family Reunion".  What seemed like an unorthodox event at first, seems to have caught on!  Attendance this year promises to be much higher.  We will post a new page in the coming weeks, reflecting pictures, etc.

Puppies...AKC, and non-registered

I haven't been on the site here much for the past few weeks due to being busy, busy with the Miami County Fair.  Behind the scenes, things couldn't be more active!  Aleu had her first litter of puppies on 7-19-12!!  Demon was the father. She had 4 total, 3 black and white, and one all white.  The all-white was male, and there were 2 B&W males, 1-female. These are non-registered purebred huskies, meaning there will be no papers included.  Three of the four are sold as of this writing, with one...
