On today’s edition of Saturday Stories, we are going to shift focus to one of the puppies that came from Frosty Meadow Farms, as opposed to our own Huskies.  Cheyenne comes from Daisie and Denali’s latest litter, born 11-22-12.  She is about 11 months old as of this writing.  Today’s story is about the many travels of Cheyenne.   Information from this story comes from Cheyenne’s owners, Rob and Tonya.

Has anyone ever stopped to wonder how much our Husky gets to see over their lifetime?  Even the most active family is likely limited to the number of places in which they bring their Husky, or dog in general.  In most cases, it’s very difficult to travel with them.  I imagine that some would travel a little, maybe on a family vacation; some would go to dog parks etc; while others may not see more than their own back yard in their lifetime.

Cheyenne’s life is quite different.  Rob and Tonya are over-the-road truck drivers, and Cheyenne rides along as a companion.  While they have a home base, a significant portion of their lives is spent on the road.  From the time Cheyenne was a puppy, she has been a companion to Rob and Tonya during their long hauls.  She loves to ride “shotgun” and sees the world as it all passes by.  Of course, Rob and Tonya frequently stop and give Cheyenne the exercise and the potty breaks she needs, but Cheyenne is very content with looking out at the wilderness and all of its beauty.

How many of us can boast that we’ve been in 40 different states?  Cheyenne can!  I know that I can only personally say that I have been in 33 states, and it took 46 years to do it!  Cheyenne is not even a year old yet!!

She has also seen Niagara Falls, and has been through two separate blizzards plus an ice storm.

States that she has been to are as follows:

Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, & Wyoming.

Will she see all 50 states in her lifetime?  Time will tell.

She still needs:

Alaska, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, South Dakota, and Washington (state).

As Rob and Tonya have pointed out to me, Cheyenne has adapted very well to life in the truck and on the road.  They admittedly were a little nervous at first, but Cheyenne quickly took a liking to her very special way of life!
