In lieu of being out of town last weekend and this weekend being Easter, I took the opportunity to jot down my notes and observations while watching the dogs as they play.  They run and play on a regular basis, but only on occasion do I get the opportunity to observe and take notes.  Today, Zach and I were out practicing golf shots while they played.

·         Aleu and Holly are limited in their time out, mostly because they don’t want to go out.  Typical for new mothers.  It usually takes a couple weeks for them to want to leave their babies for much longer than a casual walk around the pasture.  They were both very excited to go out today to play with the rest.

·         Of course we must carefully watch when they are out because this is prime fighting time.  The mothers are in “family defense” mode and tend to get aggressive to the others.  Other than a little growling, we are happy to report all was peaceful.

·         Holly is just not Holly when she is a momma.  Normally “happy-go-lucky”, Holly has only two concerns right now.  Her babies and food.  She is staring in the back door and hoping…..

·         Rose really picks on Nadia while they are out, but mark my word….Stink WILL have her day.  She is Daisie’s daughter after all.  About 20 more lbs…….

·         Beautiful day today!  Sunny and about 50 degrees.  The snow is gone, and hopefully won’t return until next December.

·         Speaking of the snow, the only things left to remind us are the mud, which never seems to go away, and the plastic sled left behind by Zach.  Now the boys get to practice shooting urine streams into it.  Nice.

·         Um…Holly, we are all outside.  Nobody is going to come out the back door and give you food.  Really.  I promise.

·         OK Kallen….give me back the golf ball.  That shot was not meant for you to play with.

·         Billy is back…..again…..Billy the cat is one of the few things that will pry Demon out from hiding.  Now he’s running up and down the fence like he has ants in his pants.

·         A very special kudos goes out to the Fletcher Fire Dept., who just went screaming by my house.  The Fletcher FD is all volunteer.  People who leave their jobs and families behind to come to the aid of others.  We salute you!

·         Well, Holly and Aleu want back in.  Normally doesn’t take very long.

·         Thanks for the muddy paw print to the groin Miya…I appreciate it!

·         Today, I made them more fried eggs.  I found the secret chicken stash in the hay loft.  We typically get about 3-4 eggs per day, (a very low amount) and every once in a while they find a spot to lay them that we cannot find.  It’s always in the hay loft, so it’s only a matter of 4-5 days before we do.  I found 22 eggs on Tuesday.

·         They get the eggs as they go back in.  Denali is funny…he simply doesn’t do leashes.  I have to carry him from point A to point B.  He’s either claustrophobic or spoiled.

Happy Easter Everyone!!
