Sunday Funnies!

It’s time for more Sunday Funnies and observations after doing the Sunday Morning chores. Our Sunday Mornings are not typical of most. After early church, or church on Saturday night, we are up and at ‘em to get busy on chores. This time of year especially. It is much cooler at 8am than during the later parts of the day. The dogs are out during chores. It’s easy to keep an eye on them while we work.
- The first thing we typically do when they come out is the removal of the fur of the shedders. Most are through it or almost through. Here is the rundown: Holly—100%; Rose—100%; Daisie—100%; Aleu—90%; Akira—75%; Demon—50%; Denali—40%; Kallen—20%; and finally Miya at 10%.
- Today, Demon and Denali received the treatment. Big white fur piles! A little black mixed in from Demon. I just hope Miya hurries up a bit so she finishes before the pups arrive!
- If I could make these dogs stop one thing, it would be to stop playing in their water buckets!
- Well, Mr. Peanut, aka Scrappy Doo, aka Chance, is realizing that he is not the tough guy he thinks he is. He is hiding under the deck. But c’mon Kallen…pick on someone your own size!
- It is indeed a farm fresh day out here! Many folks prefer the city life. Not us! Beautiful day, breeze blowing, fresh air, the sound of the area farmers cutting down the wheat harvest this early in the morning. This is the life!
- The corn is as high as an elephants eye and it looks like it’s climbing clear up to the sky! But it serves a reminder it’s but mid-July!
- Oh what a beautiful morrrrrniiinnnggg; oh what a beautiful daaaayyyyy. I’ve got a beautiful feeling, everything’s going my way!!
- Ok…I will stop with the Oklahoma reference!
- Anyway, Aleu should know by now that she is not the athlete that Holly is. She was chasing Holly to back behind the AC unit, and Holly leaped over the wires and landed on the deck about 4 feet away and 30 inches off the ground. Aleu followed….she clears the wires and crashes into the side of the deck. Poor girl. She runs off as if nothing happened. Perhaps her pride was hurt, but nothing more.
- I am starting to wonder if Rose got into some catnip….she is awfully loopy today!
- She is determined though. After working diligently for about 10 minutes, she finally got the plastic bottle through the chain link fence. Persistence pays off!
- With Huskies, it’s not the fetching that is the issue…it’s the bringing back!
- This is really becoming a game for Billy the Cat. “How crazy can I make these dogs?” he asks. I wonder if he plays this game when I am not around?
- Is it too much to ask for these dogs to wait patiently in line for things like treats, going out to play, etc.? Well, probably. Stupid Question. Moving on…
- And the winner of the tongue dangling contest is……..Rose at 4.7 inches (about) below the chin! Close second goes to Kallen at 4.5 inches (or so)
- As they go back in, I have some liver for them from a batch I cooked the other day. Got a brand new batch of liver from the butcher…over 100 lbs! Not sure what I’d do without Gary Kirby of Kirby’s Butcher Shop!
