• The past few days have been very nice weather-wise, and as usual the dogs enjoyed it.  For the past several days however, they have been a little irritable.  So we have to put them out in stages.
  • When they are behaving this way, Daisie, Aleu, Miya, and Rose must go out at separate times.  Same with Kallen and Demon.  The problem is they behave like teenagers that don’t get their way!  You can hear the “It’s not fair!”, and “Why do they get to?” and “My life is over!” coming from the cries of those that stay in the stalls while the others play.
  • The most upset of all if she is left in, is Holly.  Most of the time, she gets to go out with all of them because she doesn’t cause trouble.  But if she is left in, the entire county knows about it!
  • Yesterday, Holly was left inside and watched from the corner barn window.  Daisie, Kallen, and Denali were out, (along with Akira, Chance, and Nadia) and we gave them some left over eggs that we had for breakfast.  Wow!  Holly had a nuclear meltdown as she watched from the barn window!  It’s bad enough to keep her inside when others get to play, but it’s taken to a whole new level when she doesn’t get food!  And we wonder where Chance gets it!
  • Speaking of Holly and food, I learned this week that my fingers and chicken fingers look very similar.  I will just say “ouch” and leave it at that!
  • Kallen seems to like playtime more than the others.  Something he really likes to do is run around at full speed and then one at a time, charge at the others and from about 10 feet away bounce like a jackrabbit and land on top of them.  Especially poor Chance and Nadia.  He’s like the big brother that likes to pick on his younger siblings.
  • Speaking of Chance, we had a repair person at the house the other day from Frontier Communications to troubleshoot our WiFi box.  The box is on the back of the house, inside the dog’s play area.  No big deal, because most of them were in the barn at the time.  Akira, Nadia, and Chance were out though.  Chance decided to exert his dominance, and walked over and hiked his leg and, well, you know.  Luckily, the person had rubber boots on and took it in stride.
  • So we have a few baby kittens running around.  Still a little too young apparently to know the ways of this cruel world.  How else would one explain their propensity to want to say hi and play with the doggies?  Please just stay away kitties!  Not sure you’ll enjoy the results!
