Good news (for the most part)

Posted by Andrew Kronenberger on Saturday, April 13, 2013, In : Puppies

4-13-13

Nine of the ten of Holly’s puppies are now officially sold, and they are now at the weaning age.  Since Holly had a litter of 10, (very large) we begin our weaning process a little sooner.  We began that process last Thursday.  We are happy to report that the nine puppies that are sold are doing wonderfully on the “4-Health” soft food.  (Our brand of choice for puppies) As a whole, they are all a little thinner than normal, but with a litter that large it actually becomes “no...

The Sunday Funnies!

Posted by Andrew Kronenberger on Sunday, April 7, 2013, In : Sunday Funnies

4-7-13

·         For the third weekend in a row, it’s been difficult to get though the normal blog routine.  The “Saturday Stories” was once again pre-empted by an unforeseen circumstance.  Saturday itself was quite eventful, including the addition of our newest horse “Buffalo Hunter”, or “Hunter” as we call him.  This was a big event, but it was overshadowed by the Appendicitis flare-up that overcame Jenna, my daughter.  I am certainly happy to report that she is doing well...

Puppy Picture Day!

Puppy picture day!

Today was the first puppy picture day at the farm for Holly’s litter.  Aleu’s will follow soon.  Many times we are asked, “How do you tell them apart, and know which one I picked?”  It is a VERY valid question.  Some litters are very easy, and others are very difficult.  An example of an easy one was Rose’s recent litter.  There were 6 puppies in all.  Two were all-white, one male, one female.  No problems there!  One of the remaining four was red and w...

The day has arrived!

Posted by Andrew Kronenberger on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, In : Puppies

3-19-13

Today I am combining the post from 3-18 and 3-19, because it has been a VERY busy day at the farm!  We finally get to announce the arrival of Holly’s puppies!!  Labor began yesterday around noon, and after a long day, evening, and night, she had 10 puppies in the end!  We believe she is done, but will update if that number changes.  They are all black and white, with a couple having some gray.  All of Holly’s puppies to date have been black and white regardless of father.  This...

Spring around the corner!

Posted by Andrew Kronenberger on Saturday, March 2, 2013, In : Frosty Meadow Happenings

Friday 3-1-13

March is finally here!  It came in like a lion.  (cold/rain/snow/nasty)  By rule, this means it goes out like a lamb.  (warmer, sunny) (hopefully!)  Akira and Nadia were running around in circles outside, long enough to almost wear a pattern in the grass.  One thing is for certain…come springtime, we will need to fertilize the dog area and also the horse pasture.  Probably even spread some grass seed.  Winter usually takes its toll on the grass in the animal areas.  It should...

Puppies were born last night!

Posted by Andrew Kronenberger on Thursday, February 7, 2013, In : Puppies

As expected, Rose gave birth to her puppies late last night! There were 6 total, 4-female and 2-male. Colors were very interesting. Two were white with a light tannish red tint, two were gray and white and looked a lot like Kallen, but the other two had interesting mixes of gray and red. As they get older, we will be able to tell better whether they grow toward red and white, wolf gray and white, or the very rare sable and white, which is red roots and gray/black tips. Pictures soon!!

Next round of puppies!

Posted by Andrew Kronenberger on Wednesday, January 30, 2013, In : Puppies
As mentioned in a previous post, we are coming up on our next round of puppies.  Rose is expected to have her first litter in week or so.  Rose had her first heat cycle very early. (At around 6 months!)  Normally, the first comes 8-12 months, but Rose was an early bloomer.  There was some miscommunication over who the Father was going to be between Heather and myself.  I thought she had said it was Demon, but in our discussions she told me it wasn't him, but rather Kallen.  I did not think Ka...

Posted by Andrew Kronenberger on Saturday, December 15, 2012, In : Puppies
Daisie had her pups on Thanksgiving day!  (Denali was the sire) She had 10 beautiful Black and White and All White Siberian Husky Puppies, (4-black and white and 6-all white.  One of the black and white puppies was a runt, and we are happy to report that at three weeks she (and all the others) are doing very well!  We decided to keep the runt, and are debating over a name.  Six of the remaining nine have been sold, with 2-male all white and 1-female all white remaining.  (Click here for pictu...

Whirlwind of Events!

Posted by Andrew Kronenberger on Thursday, September 27, 2012, In : Frosty Meadow Happenings

It's been a whirlwind the last couple months here at Frosty Meadow Husky Farm!  It all started back in late July.

* Upon arriving home from vacation in late July, Aleu and Miya both gave birth to their litters of puppies, followed by Holly 2 weeks later.
* In early August, we were swamped with activity due to the Miami County Fair, and visits to the farm by future puppy owners.
* September brought us the 2nd Annual Husky Reunion, plus the continuous flow of future puppy owners.
* Sophie was re-lo...

Puppies...AKC, and non-registered

Posted by Andrew Kronenberger on Monday, August 13, 2012, In : Puppies
I haven't been on the site here much for the past few weeks due to being busy, busy with the Miami County Fair.  Behind the scenes, things couldn't be more active!  Aleu had her first litter of puppies on 7-19-12!!  Demon was the father. She had 4 total, 3 black and white, and one all white.  The all-white was male, and there were 2 B&W males, 1-female. These are non-registered purebred huskies, meaning there will be no papers included.  Three of the four are sold as of this writing, with one...

New Windows

Posted by Andrew Kronenberger on Thursday, July 12, 2012, In : Adding on

The new window project is underway!  This photo shows Miya looking out her new window, with Daisie trying to do the same in the next stall. Daisie and the rest will soon have their own, as I will be adding them throughout the rest of the summer. They really enjoy the view, and the entertainment value of the occasional cat that walks by! ;-)

Siberian Husky Puppies

Posted by Andrew Kronenberger on Monday, July 2, 2012, In : Puppies
Update on the upcoming litters:
Miya is coming along nicely as expected, and should have her litter around 7-20 to 7-24.  We are hopeful for Aleu, as she is indeed gaining weight, but still remain cautious.  It is still too early to tell for Holly and Sophie.  Be sure to contact us to set up a visit to the farm, or to be put on the waiting list.  Click on our "Contact Us" link to obtain our contact information, or to fill out the contact submission request.

To a Siberian Husky, it's the best Day of the year!

Posted by Andrew Kronenberger on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, In : Frosty Meadow Happenings
This past weekend, (June 2nd) we had our annual hog roast.  For the average Siberian Husky this means best day ever because it means oodles and oodles of scraps and leftovers!  Here at Frosty Meadow Farms it was no different.  The roaster was cooking right outside their play area, and of course they spent a lot of time sitting and drooling.  They were not disappointed.  There was certainly enough to go around, and it was heaven on earth to them!

Puppies???

Posted by Andrew Kronenberger on Monday, April 4, 2011, In : Puppies
While we can't be certain this early, we believe Holly is pregnant!  The father is Denali.  Hollies last litter, the father was Brutus, and the puppies were all sweet and fun-loving.  Holly's temperament is VERY sweet, and Brutus is a "gentle giant".  Very calm and tranquil. Denali is not much different than Brutus.  He also has a calm personality.  The biggest difference is color.  Brutus is Black/Gray and White, Denali is all-white.  We expect the puppies to be a mix of black and white and ...

Updates!

Posted by Andrew Kronenberger on Tuesday, March 29, 2011,
We have new updates to the site that now reflect all of our huskies!  One exception though.  On March 28th, we took in another rescue.  She is actually one of the original litter of puppies by Daisie and Denali.  The owners could no longer care for her due to having to move into an apartment.  Apartments are NOT recommended for owning a Husky!  They are too active, and get bored easily.  She is a beautiful, all white female, and is AKC purebred.  She looks like Daisie, but is all white like D...
