3-19-13

Today I am combining the post from 3-18 and 3-19, because it has been a VERY busy day at the farm!  We finally get to announce the arrival of Holly’s puppies!!  Labor began yesterday around noon, and after a long day, evening, and night, she had 10 puppies in the end!  We believe she is done, but will update if that number changes.  They are all black and white, with a couple having some gray.  All of Holly’s puppies to date have been black and white regardless of father.  This litter isn’t much different with Kallen as the father.  We will see if the ones with a little gray lighten up or darken as they get older.  Eye color is obviously yet to be determined, but Kallen has blue eyes, and Holly has brown.  There will likely be a mix of both, including bi-eyed.  We are not yet sure of specific gender count, as we are letting Holly de-stress a little first.

With the unfortunate cold days and nights forthcoming for at least a week or two, she is in her place with the heat lamp to ensure plenty of warmth.  We moved Rose’s puppies out to another location to allow for this room.

Speaking of Rose’s puppies, they are set to have their physical and shots on Wednesday, and they are set to go into their new homes!  They are all very playful, but as usual, some are a little more timid and cuddly.
