Meet the Siberian Huskies…Part 1…Holly
Our first Siberian Husky was Holly. To this day, she is our most active and
athletic dog. We noticed early on that
that she also seemed to take charge when out playing. Whenever she runs, the others tend to follow
her. She seems a natural leader. My belief is she would make a great lead dog
on a sled team. Holly is also very
smart tends to be stubborn. She is
without a doubt, our chief escape artist.
Since Siberian Huskies love to run so much, measures must be taken to
keep them contained within the boundries.
Whenever kennels or fencing is put up new, our test subject is
Holly. I’ve said in the past that our
stalls at one point were Siberian Husky proof, but not “Holly proof”.
She is one of only two of our Siberian Huskies that can leap
from the ground to the top of the trampoline.
(Miya being the other) Holly has
a very sweet and playful temperament, and loves to be around other people and
Huskies! She is the mother of 4 litters
of puppies, so after her next, we will be retiring her. Our intent is to keep at least one of the
females from that litter so we can keep her bloodline going. Her puppies are great pups, and that word is
spreading around. People call to inquire
specifically for Holly’s puppies.
Holly is non-registered Siberian Husky, and actually has a
trace of Malamute in her bloodline. It
is far enough back in her family tree for her to be considered purebred Husky. But that also means she is not registered
through AKC, or any other kennel club.
