Sunday Funnies (or today, maybe we should call it “The week in review”)

·         It was a chilly but very nice weekend here at the farm.  The dogs certainly had their chances to play, but a very busy weekend kept the normal observations to a minimum.  Most of my time while they were out was spent doing farm chores.

·         There are still two puppies remaining from Aleu’s litter as of today.  Both White males.  All of Holly’s are sold, with the exception of Chance.  Chance is “Male #2” and has medical issues as reported in an earlier post.  We chose the name Chance after receiving a lot of great suggestions on our Facebook page.  The name Chance just seemed like a great fit.

·         Chance is officially off the market, and goes in for surgery on Wednesday.  Our prayers go out for a successful surgery and speedy recovery.  Assuming all goes well, and Chance gets back to full health, we will decide at that time whether to keep him or give him to a loving home.  He is such a cute and cuddly little guy, it will be a very difficult decision.

·          The rest of the pups will not disappoint the new owners!  Holly’s are very cute and fun-lovin’, and while Aleu’s started out more quiet and laid back, they are now opening up and becoming very friendly as well.  Sometimes it takes a little longer, but in virtually every case the Husky in the puppy shines through!  Huskies are simply dogs that REALLY enjoy life!

·         Speaking of enjoying life, they are all certainly enjoying the nice weather as I am doing chores.  Especially Miya, Kallen, Rose, and Nadia.  The four have been running around like they are long lost old college buddies that haven’t seen each other in years!

·         I walked Daisie around the pasture in an attempt to get some exercise for myself, and well, it was eventful.  Quick Quiz to Husky owners:  You are out walking your Husky, and a rabbit jumps out and takes off running.  Do you:  A) Let her go,  B) Lose your arm, or C) be prepared in advance and KNOW this could happen at any time.

·         I’ll let you ponder that……….

·         Thankfully, I chose “C”.

·         The rabbit jumped out of the hayfield.  It seems to be growing rather nicely.  I’m sure we are on schedule for a Memorial Day cut like last year.

·         Well, we will be keeping everyone informed of the progress of Chance.  Hopefully we will be able to report great news!
