It's time again for the Sunday Funnies as we are getting ready for the upcoming fair.  The dogs were out as usual, and were being their normal goofy selves.
  • All the dogs are out except Miya, who is pregnant and has an attitude.  Which is typical.  She was out with me on a leash and we were walking around the fenced area.  Lots of growling but Miya was safe outside the fence.  Or should I say the others were safe inside.  If I let her in, there would surely be a fight.  More on that subject in the near future.
  • As I walked Miya around the yard, we walked around the barn.  I am not sure what I was thinking, but the ducks (for the fair) are on the far side in their pen.  They were in a fenced kennel, so she couldn't get to them, but that didn't stop her from almost tearing my arm out of socket.
  • Let's just say Miya had some serious interest and really, REALLY, wanted to "say hi" to the ducks!
  • After I put her back in her stall, I am pretty sure she went straight to the ACME catalog, and ordered a giant slingshot and anvil!
  • On the subject of ducks, the fair adviser stopped by the other day and was answering questions about the ducks and chickens.  Of course the subject turned to Huskies for a while as well.  I suppose we can answer her questions about Huskies in return for her poultry knowledge.  Seems like a fair trade.
  • Heather sprained her ankle, and refuses to rest it.  She is as stubborn about these things as I am.  So what does a good husband do?  If she insists on helping out and I can't get her to rest, then she gets the riding lawn mower.
  • As she was cruising by on the lawn mower outside the fence, all 10 dogs ran to the 6' x 4' deck.  Five under it, and five on top.  If I only had my camera!  LOL!
  • I had a small bowl of BBQ pork left over, and let Nadia have it this morning before she went out with the others.  The bowl left a BBQ sauce smiley face under her chin.  She looked like the joker from batman.
  • And she couldn't understand why all the others wanted to lick her face.  Maybe she thought they were all happy to see her!
  • I had the grill out cooking liver, but this time I brought it out to just outside the fence since it was a nice day.  Tell me...is it a special treat, or a cruel punishment to cook the liver just out of their reach?
  • And of course Holly no longer has an interest in anything else.
  • After their treat, it's time to go back in.  We are ready for the big week at the fair which begins Thursday.
