Today, I thought I’d throw in a few pictures with the thoughts and observations:

·         Last summer, I blogged here about “The Best Day Ever” in the world of a husky.  It was about our annual hog roast we hold for our extended families.  It is a feast for us, but for the dogs, it’s a dream come true.

·         I will officially proclaim today as the “Second Best Day Ever”.  Today is the day we pulled out and opened up the swimming pool!!!!

·         I can remember as a kid, the day the public pool opened.  The dogs feel the same way.  I can’t fill it up fast enough.  They are all jumping and playing, rolling around and splashing, and just having a ball.  Like her mother, Nadia loves the water. 

·         Holly and Akira are the only two that stay away.  They have never climbed into the water, and I doubt they ever will.

·         Holly just seems more focused on the task at hand…again…as always.  Someone is bound to open that door and give me food.  I can just feel it.  C’mon…I know you’re in there…let’s just do this.  But alas, no special treats will come on this day.  Heavy Sigh!

·         Seeing them all play in the water makes me miss Brutus.  He really loved the water.  He would just climb in and lay there.  He and Daisie would lay there, side by side, and not let the others in.

·         Moulting update…Daisie is 100% complete.  (she started in February for some reason) Rose and Akira are at 50% complete, and Demon and Denali are just underway.  Holly, Aleu, Nadia, Kallen, and Miya have not started yet. 

·         So Eeyore is lying there, just minding his own business, when Nadia walks up and stares at him.  She then steps in to sniff a little. And then step in even closer…nose to nose…aaannnddd SNAP!!  YELP!!.......Don’t wake the sleeping bear Nadia, lesson learned.

·         Speaking of Nadia…she loves the water.  But…once it got to about 6 inches deep, things changed.  She did climb in, but waded through ever so slowly. 

·         I’ve stated in previous articles and blog posts that dogs aren’t human.  I wrote about it to remind everyone that they do things that we feel are simply bizarre or gross.  I have to remind myself of that fact on a regular basis.  Case in point:  Kallen will not stop shooting urine streams into the water bucket!  And then the others come running up to drink from it!  Gross?? YES!  Normal?? YES!!

·         As always, Rose has been chasing Nadia around all day.  Poor Stink can’t get a break.  Suddenly, Daisie and Kallen relentlessly attack Rose and she runs off!  As I mentioned in an earlier “Sunday Funnies”, I wonder how long the mother realizes that’s her baby and don’t mess with her.  But this time Kallen helped as well.  Maybe it’s just a case of them getting tired of the neighborhood bully. 

·         Well, I have to unfortunately report that the Reds have fallen to the Pirates for the third straight day.  This is their fifth loss in a row.  It’s early, but the concern is there.  Injuries are rolling in.  Cueto appears to be headed to the DL, Ludwick and Marshall already there.  C’mon guys…

·         And lastly, as I put the dogs back in on this nice spring day, there is nothing new to report on Male #2 from Holly’s litter.  We are starting to wonder if it was born with a very small stomach, or worse, no stomach.  It simply cannot ingest anything other than mother’s milk.
