This is day 2 post op. He has had off and on vomiting since his surgery. He is not tolerating the antibiotic and I think the Vet will change it today. The Vet has decided another day of doggie daycare is needed. While at the Vet’s office yesterday he made it known that he does not like being in a kennel and would howl and cry until they got him out. He was held by the staff all day yesterday and I’m sure it will be the same today. What a spoiled boy! He is such a sweet, playful boy. He does have some congestion and the Vet thinks during one of his vomiting episodes he has aspirated (fluid into the lungs) and it will heal on its own in time. After a call to the Vet last night she decided to water down his puppy formula and give more frequent feeds (every two hours). This has helped and no more vomiting! He does regurgitate at each feeding. Today the Vet had talked about a Gastric tube (tube put down his nose into his stomach) which would help get his formula to his stomach. I’m hoping since he has not vomited all night this can be skipped. The Vet will decided what is best for Chance.
