Wednesday Weekly Update for 8-7-13

  • Miya is now really starting to show.  We figure her due date to be in the vicinity of August 18-20. She has been officially moved to the birthing stall.  I am not sure she likes the solitude at this point, but at the day approaches, she will be glad.
  • The summer coat blowing season is finally in the homestretch.  Only Demon and Denali are still in process, and they are both at about 75% complete.  Kallen and Miya don’t seem to want to lose much this year.  We haven’t ruled them out in this regard, but one thing we learned is that it can vary from year to year.
  • As if you haven’t guessed by now if you’ve been reading this blog, The Miami County Fair begins this week.  This evening is the start of setting everything up and tomorrow we begin moving all of the animals to their respective fair barns.  So a lot is on the table this weekend.
  • I will try to post here, if only shortened versions, but if I miss a day, this is my excuse. J
  • I must admit, (knock on wood here) that it’s been a very nice summer.  So far, very few days over 90 degrees.  A welcome blessing after last July having numerous days over 90, and several over 100 degrees!
  • And of course, it’s coming up on reunion time!  The dates we’ve picked for voting are September 7th, 21st, and 28th.  The reunion is for all who have purchased or are in possession of any one of our Husky puppies.  Also welcome are anyone who has taken in a rescue that came from us.  If you are reading this, and haven’t already voted for the date, please do so by commenting here, going to our Facebook group or page, or click here to contact us via email or phone.
  • Once we have a date set, we will email/mail out official invitations.  As of this writing, the dates are running neck and neck.  The 21st and 28th are tied for the lead, with the 7th only one vote behind.  Please vote!
  • We understand that not every date will work out for everyone, but this is the fairest way to do it.  We hope that even if your best date isn’t chosen, you can still make it!
  • And finally…Happy 1st Birthday Dante, Chaser, Shelby, Loki, Kaspian, Deja, and one other!  From Holly and Denali’s litter from 8-7-12.
