Wednesday Weekly Update, on Thursday
Posted by Andrew Kronenberger on Thursday, February 13, 2014 Under: Frosty Meadow Happenings
I tried to post an update yesterday, but it just wouldn't upload right. Computers...Can't live them, Can't live without them!
As I write this, I have visions of warmer weather, grill outs, baseball, and spring/summer projects. I know that not everyone is disliking this cold weather. One of our puppy owners, Megan, (Yuki's owner, from Miya's 2012 Litter) is enjoying time on the mushing trails.
Here is a post she made on Facebook:
"Thanks to the snow sticking around I've been able to get the pups on the trails more. We are now doing 6 miles at a time with only one break at about 4 miles in. I go with a fellow musher and have to drag the brake for 5 miles of it due to their drive and desire to go. On a side note, Yuki is now down to her perfect weight of 33 pounds at almost 19 months."

Here she is with her group. Yuki is on the left.
Also enjoying the snow is Rob and Tonya's Cheyenne (from Daisie and Denali's Nov 2012 litter). Here she is in a New Hampshire snow drift:

Here also is Ruth and Kieth's Czar (from Miya and Kallen's litter last August), enjoying the snow in Maryland:

Back here at home, our Huskies to enjoy the snow, but I think we can all agree that we can do without the sub-zero cold!
Nadia's puppies are now 3 weeks old. All three black and white puppies are sold, and the white female is sale pending. he two white males remain. We started to let them nibble on some soft food this week. They all now have their eyes open, and it looks as if we will have some with blue eyes and some with brown eyes.
Meanwhile, in the barn, Holly had to make a trip to the infirmary. She and Miya (we think) got into a fight through the kennel fence. Holly was up on two feet, and her front paws were sticking through the fence. Miya bit down on the one paw and madness ensued. Holly was left bloody and had to be bandaged up well. Luckily, no stitches were needed. Also luckily, she keeps her bandages on well. Most of them would chew it off as quickly as possible. She is leaving it alone.
We now join the ranks of the several that have lost a cell phone to a husky. Zach left his on the table, and Chance had his way with it. Luckily in another few months, we renew our contract and get new phones anyway. Live and learn.
