Wednesday Weekly Update for 8-21-13

  • The day has come!  Miya’s puppies were born on 8-14, as mentioned in a previous post.  A small litter by Miya’s standards, but average in general.  Six total puppies, 5 male and 1 female.  They are all gray and white, some darker than others.  We anticipate that most or all will have blue eyes, but it’s possible that we could see a brown eye or two.
  • They are now one week old, and are doing very well.  All are eating well with big appetites and are normal size.
  • I mentioned in another post how Miya doesn’t like the carpeted area we have for her and the puppies.  We have fought the battle, and have officially given in to her.  We move them in, and she pulls them out.  All of the others like that area, but not Miya!  She wins.  Whatever makes mama comfortable.  It is likely because its warmer in there, and obviously she wants to be cooler.  In the winter, it is very important they are in there because we put the heat lamp there.  The pups need the warmth.
  • Speaking of warmth, the summer heat has returned!  We definitely cannot complain.  It’s been a great summer.  The barn fans come back on, and the pool is much more enticing.
  • Now that the fair is history, it’s time to move onto projects.  Lean-to, Window covers, New-Stalls, Re-Wire barn to name a few.
  • It’s also time to get ready for the annual Husky Reunion!  The date is set for September 28th at 2pm.  Invitations will be emailed out soon!
  • As the reunion grows, we have to unfortunately enforce certain limitations.  The question comes up every year about how many dogs can I bring.  Starting this year, because it is growing, we have to limit the dogs to any Husky purchased or received from Frosty Meadow Husky Farm, and one other Husky.  Sorry, this year and likely hereafter, we decided not to allow other breeds.  I know in most cases it’s no problem, but it CAN be.  We simply want to avoid problems from the start.  We also ask that every Husky be on a leash, and there be no more than two Huskies per human for any family.
  • Details will be on the invitation!  If you do not receive an invitation, please email me at kronenbergerandrew@yahoo.com and I will send one out.  I may not have everyone’s most current email.
