Frosty Meadow Husky Farm, Fletcher, Ohio

Skye

Ice and Skye came to us as a "rescue" in March of 2016.  In our continuing efforts to grow the farm, we are always on the lookout for healthy & young males and females with great temperaments to add to our breeding stock.  In our searches, we found this great duo in the Nashville area.  Their original owners bought them as puppies, and were unable to care for them any longer.  After we discussed it with them, we decided that this pair, who are sisters, would make a great addition.

They are both a little smaller in stature, running around 15 lbs. below average.  This is of little or no concern since Nadia and Iris are both about the same size and are great mothers.  They both have colors that we have not seen before.  Ice is mostly white, with a light gray stripe down her back, and Skye is also mostly white but has a light red stripe down her back.

Skye is more of a free spirit and loves to play with the other dogs.  She has adjusted well and seems to fit in well.  She like the water, but prefers the water trough over the kiddie pool for some reason.  Skye is much more vocal than her sister, and loves to howl.  She has a very distinct high-pitched howl that is easy to recognize.  She is mostly white, but has alight red strip down her back.  Skye is smaller than Ice, which makes us concerned about breeding her.

Update:  Since Skye was never able to be bred due to size and skittish behavioral issues, we decided that it would be in her best interest to be re-homed.  Her new family loves her and although it took some time to adjust, she is doing well.
